Compare prop firm challenges

Compare prop firm challenges by price, account size, drawdown type and number of steps.

What is a prop firm challenge?

A prop firm challenge is an evaluation of your trading skills, risk management and ability to follow the rules before you gain access to a funded account.

To pass a prop firm challenge, you generally need to reach a profit target while staying within the firm's limits.

These can cover drawdown, maximum loss, evaluation stages, minimum trading days and position management.

How do you read the challenge comparison table?

The table lets you compare challenges using the criteria that affect risk and the requirements for passing.

  • Account size
  • Challenge fee
  • Activation fee
  • Number of steps
  • Profit target
  • Maximum loss
  • Drawdown type
  • Profit split
  • Minimum trading days

Number of steps

  • 0 steps: you get direct access to a funded account without a traditional evaluation. These are instant funding prop firms.
  • 1 step: you need to pass a single evaluation phase. This can be quicker, but the rules may also be stricter.
  • 2 steps: you pass an initial phase, then confirm your results in a second phase. This format is often more gradual.

The number of steps is a useful filter, but it should not determine your choice on its own.

Two challenges with the same number of steps can have very different profit targets, loss limits, activation fees and payout conditions.

Drawdown type

The drawdown type determines how the loss limit is calculated.

It affects your room for error and how you manage trades. Two challenges with the same price and account size can feel very different if their drawdown is calculated differently.

How do you choose a suitable challenge?

Choosing a prop firm and choosing a challenge are two different decisions. If you haven't chosen a firm yet, start with the prop firm comparison.

Once you have chosen a firm, compare its challenges against your needs using these questions:

  • Which account size am I aiming for: 25K, 50K, 100K or more?
  • How much can I budget for the challenge?
  • Which drawdown type can I work with?
  • Do I prefer a quick evaluation or a gradual one?
  • Which fees might be charged after I pass?
  • Do the rules fit my trading method?

How are prices displayed?

When a promo code is available, I apply it directly to the challenge price. The discounted price appears on top, with the original price crossed out underneath.

You can use my promo code when signing up on the prop firm's website.

For example, if the price is $155 with an 83% discount, the displayed price will be $26.35.

Visit my page on prop firm promo codes to see the available discounts.

Is the comparison updated regularly?

Yes, the data is reviewed regularly. Prices, promo codes, activation fees and challenge rules can change.

Challenges may be added, changed or removed when their conditions change.
