My analysis and trading plans for the week of 26 October 2026

As always, it’s time for our weekly look at my trading plans and interesting prop firm updates.

Inside Bobby’s head

This week, we take action.

US indices

We’ve reached the zone I marked out last week.

So my plan is simple: as long as the imbalance remains bullish and buyers are there, I’m going LONG.

30-minute Nasdaq chart with VWAPs, the trading zone and a bullish arrow on the volume profile
Nasdaq: follow buyers towards 30,000, with a break below 29,000 or even 28,800 as the signal to step aside.

On the Nasdaq, I’ll look to ride the move towards 30,000 as a first target.

As usual, I’d rather follow the trend than try to predict its reversal.

The real warning sign would be a break below 29,000, or even 28,800.

In that case, I’ll forget about longs and sit on my hands. I saw sellers at last week’s VWAP, so there’s no point forcing it.

The plan is broadly the same on ES.

Gold

This is the third newsletter in which I’ve mentioned that range between $4,000 and $4,200 on the futures contract.

This week, I’m changing my approach a little: for once, I won’t be looking to trade inside the range.

I’ll wait for a clear break below $4,000 and try to find a sensible way to join the move lower.

Hourly gold chart with VWAPs, the composite volume profile and a bearish arrow below the marked zone
Gold: wait for a clear break below $4,000 or above $4,200, with a preference for the bearish scenario.

The same logic applies if price breaks above $4,200: I could then look for long opportunities.

But given the previous downtrend and the current economic backdrop, I still favour a break to the downside.

We’ll see whether the market agrees. No guessing.

Prop firms

For smaller budgets: FundedNext

Who knew Halloween could bring prop firm opportunities?

At FundedNext, the 6K one-step account comes to €40 with code BOBBY. I recommend choosing cTrader if you aren’t used to MT5.

Tempting enough to give the firm a try, isn’t it?

For bigger budgets: Apex

Apex is offering a pack of five 50K intraday accounts, with no activation fees, for €220.

That works out at €44 per account, with code bctrd.

FundingPips closes PRIME to new sign-ups

The firm has just announced that it’s closing its PRIME programme to new sign-ups.

Even if you don’t trade with them, I think this matters. It reminds us that prop firm rules can change overnight.

That’s exactly why you need to be careful about building your whole trading approach or strategy around one firm’s advantages.

P.S. I’ve also released a video comparing FTMO and FundingPips. Three rounds, two prop firms, one winner!
