Bobby's review
I opened my PEA with BoursoBank almost five years ago.
At the time, brokerage fees at my traditional bank, LCL, were much higher, and the setup was less suited to managing an ETF portfolio myself.
So I chose BoursoBank for my investments while keeping my current account with LCL.
Since then, I’ve invested regularly in ETFs using a DCA strategy, and I haven’t had any particular problems with the platform or placing orders.

Some brokers now offer lower fees, but the current setup works for me, and I haven’t wanted to go through the process of transferring my PEA.
My decision to stay is therefore more about the convenience of keeping a setup that suits me than about how competitive the fees are today.
If you’re opening an account today, you should compare the available offers based on how much you invest and how often.
I think BoursoBank can suit people who want to keep their banking and investments with the same provider.
The lack of an adviser you can meet in person is another limitation. If something goes wrong, you have to deal with remote customer support, which can make the process more cumbersome.
Available accounts, markets and products
BoursoBank offers the Plan d’Épargne en Actions (PEA), a French tax-advantaged investment account, its PEA-PME variant, and a standard securities account (CTO).
The PEA and PEA-PME let you invest in securities eligible for those French tax wrappers, while the CTO gives you access to a wider range of markets and financial products.
You can read this article to learn more about the differences between a PEA and a CTO.

BoursoBank offers stocks, ETFs, fixed-income products and derivatives, among other investments.
Its catalogue also includes French investment funds and property or private equity vehicles: OPCVM, SCPI, FIP, FCPI and FCPR.
| Your goal | Suitable account or product |
|---|---|
| Invest long term in eligible stocks and ETFs | PEA |
| Invest in eligible small and medium-sized businesses | PEA-PME |
| Access more markets and products | CTO |
| Buy stocks or ETFs | PEA or CTO, depending on eligibility |
| Invest in funds or wealth management products | Choose the account to match the product |
A CTO lets you access securities that aren’t eligible for a PEA, but fees are less attractive for some foreign markets and small orders.
BoursoBank doesn’t offer direct access to Forex, CFDs or cryptocurrencies.
You’ll need another broker to invest in those markets.
The minimum deposit is €0, and you can access your accounts through BoursoBank’s mobile app.
BoursoBank’s platform
BoursoBank has a dedicated investment interface called Trading Board.
It lets you buy ETFs or stocks, monitor your positions and check your portfolio’s value.

The interface is easy to use, but you quickly reach its limits with technical analysis or active trading.
BoursoBank also offers ProRealTime for more advanced charts and analysis tools.
The platform is therefore best suited to an investor placing a few orders a month who doesn’t need in-depth market analysis.
BoursoBank’s fees
Fees depend on the product you buy, the exchange it trades on and the account you use.
BoursoBank has four pricing plans for stocks listed on Euronext Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels.
These plans suit different profiles depending on the size and frequency of transactions.
ETFs and stocks traded on other exchanges follow specific rules.
Fees for Euronext stocks
| Plan | Euronext fees | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Découverte | €1.99 up to €500, then 0.60% | Occasional or passive investor |
| Classic | €5.50 up to €1,000, then 0.48%, with an €8.95 minimum | CTO user making at least one transaction a month |
| Trader | €16.65 up to €7,750, then 0.22% | Investor placing larger orders |
| Ultimate Trader | €9.90 up to €10,000, then 0.12% | Investor making at least thirty transactions a month |
For an investor using a PEA and placing few orders, the Découverte plan is generally the best fit.
The Classic plan is only available with a CTO.
The Classic and Trader plans require at least one transaction a month. Otherwise, BoursoBank charges €5.95.
The Ultimate Trader plan requires at least thirty transactions a month, with a €119 monthly charge if you don’t reach that threshold.
These conditions make Classic, Trader and Ultimate Trader a poor fit for someone who only invests occasionally.
Brokerage fees on a PEA, a PEA for 18 to 25-year-olds or a PEA-PME are capped at 0.5% of the order value.
ETF fees
ETFs, ETNs and ETCs listed in Paris or Amsterdam are charged according to your chosen Euronext pricing plan.
Some products in the Boursomarkets selection have €0 brokerage fees when you buy them.
Foreign markets
The four plans above don’t determine the fees charged on foreign markets.
On US exchanges, BoursoBank charges €6.95 up to €6,000, then 0.12% of the order value.
On other available European exchanges, fees are €11.95 up to €4,000, then 0.30%.
Transactions outside the eurozone also incur currency conversion costs.
For transactions outside the eurozone, BoursoBank also applies an exchange rate calculated on T+1, with a markup of 0.0025 points.
For example, buying €200 of a US stock costs €6.95 in brokerage fees, before currency conversion.
That makes BoursoBank less suitable if you want to regularly buy small amounts of foreign stocks.
Minimum order amounts
The minimum depends on the account, the product you buy and the exchange it trades on.
| Order type | Account used | Minimum amount |
|---|---|---|
| Stock on Euronext Paris, Amsterdam or Brussels | CTO | €20 |
| Stock on Euronext Paris, Amsterdam or Brussels | PEA, PEA for 18 to 25-year-olds, or PEA-PME | €100 |
| Stock on another available European exchange | CTO | €20 |
| Stock on another available European exchange | PEA, PEA for 18 to 25-year-olds, or PEA-PME | €2,500 |
| Stock on a US exchange | CTO | €20 |
| ETF, ETN or ETC listed in Paris or Amsterdam | CTO, PEA or PEA-PME | €200 |
The €200 minimum for ETFs becomes restrictive if you invest less than that each month or want to split your contribution across several ETFs.
The €2,500 minimum only applies to stocks bought through a PEA or PEA-PME on a European exchange other than Euronext Paris, Amsterdam or Brussels.
Regulation and asset protection
BoursoBank operates in France through Boursorama, which is authorised by the ACPR and supervised by the AMF for its financial market activities.
Eligible deposits held at the bank are covered by France’s deposit guarantee and resolution fund, the FGDR, up to €100,000 per client per institution.
Securities held in a PEA or CTO remain separate from the bank’s assets and must be returned if the bank fails.
If those securities cannot be returned, the securities guarantee may cover up to €70,000.
These protections cover the institution’s failure. They don’t cover a fall in the value of a stock, ETF or other financial product.
