I spend a fair bit of time on finance forums, looking for interesting information and discussions.
Over the past few weeks, one thing stood out:
Most people were predicting a sharp rally, a pump, in cryptocurrencies.
They expected it to start in early October, and to them it seemed obvious.
A few weeks later, we have to admit they got it right.

So how did so many people correctly anticipate this move?
Was it just optimism, or are there real reasons behind the rally?
Uncle Bobby is here to explain.
Altseason
If you’ve followed crypto for a while, you’ll know it moves in cycles.
These cycles of rising and falling prices tend to repeat around each Bitcoin halving.
Without getting too deep into it, it comes down to psychology and capital rotation.
At each stage, existing investors exit positions, often in Bitcoin, to lock in profits and look for opportunities in other coins.
Here’s the pattern that has played out several times in previous cycles:
- Bitcoin rises first and draws attention
- When it slows, money moves into Ethereum
- Then come the major altcoins: BNB, Solana, Chainlink and others
- Finally, the more speculative altcoins. No need to name names here
Those last two phases are what we call altseason.
And right now, it feels like the market is entering it.
But why does the timing line up so neatly with October?
Patience. I’m getting there.
Uptober
It’s no coincidence that so many traders are betting on October.
Two forces are coming together: the post-halving cycle and market seasonality.
October has a particular reputation in crypto.
People call it "Uptober" because, historically, markets tend to rise during the month.
The numbers speak for themselves: in the past twelve years, Bitcoin has finished October higher ten times.

Of course, there have been exceptions, such as 2014 and 2018, but the overall trend remains positive.
That historical backdrop is combining with a macro environment that gives the rally even more support:
- Expectations of another Fed rate cut, as US employment isn’t growing as much as expected
- Large capital inflows into crypto ETFs
Let me recap in case you lost the thread:
We have a seasonal effect, Uptober, a crypto cycle setting up altseason, and a macro backdrop reinforcing both.
That combination is giving the move strength and turning the October prediction into reality.
