How many times did I tell my aunt to stop tapping away at her useless app, explaining that it was a waste of time?
At least five times over the past few years.
And yet she was right, and I was wrong.
Pi has been listed on several trading platforms, including Bitget and MEXC.
The famous Pi Coin, which anyone could mine by pressing a button, is now worth $1.69.

Our "expertise" blinds us
The funny thing is that people who actually knew about crypto were convinced mining Pi Coin this way was pointless.
Meanwhile, beginners and sceptics gave it a go, thinking, "Well, we’ll see what happens."
They had nothing to lose.
The idea that a button and a pyramid-style referral system could produce crypto with real value seemed absurd to me.
Sometimes, thinking we know better is exactly what stops us from seeing a real opportunity.
Stop expecting crypto to make sense
If there’s one thing I’ve questioned this year, it’s my view of the crypto world.
Nothing here really makes sense, and it’s all much less rational than we imagine.
Between NFTs, memecoins with €50 billion market caps, and ETH still not having reclaimed its all-time high from the last bull run, nothing should surprise me anymore.
And yet...
The day before yesterday, Donald Trump announced a strategic crypto reserve including XRP, SOL and ADA.
Their prices immediately jumped.
Then, as if someone had whispered in his ear that he should mention BTC and ETH too, moments later he quoted his own tweet and added:
"Of course, BTC and ETH, along with other cryptocurrencies, will be at the heart of the reserve. I love Bitcoin and Ethereum too."
Our friend Magnakobo from Discord thought this was the start of lift-off... but it was just the Trump announcement effect.

Coincidence or not, a trader opened a 50x leveraged long position on ETH and BTC just before Trump’s announcement.
Was it intuition, inside information or an enormous stroke of luck?
I have my own idea about that.
